 CONTESTS

We encourage artisans of all levels to join and enter their work in our exciting contests. You will be judged by your doll making skills and attention to details. This is a great opportunity to show off your work. Vendors and guests are welcome to enter in the three contest categories, organized by the Kansas Doll Show.​

  • BEST REBORN CATEGORY

  • BEST SILICONE CATEGORY

  • BEST FANTASY CATEGORY

You may submit one entry in each category.

​

First, second, and third place trophies will be given in each category. An esteem panel of judges will judge all entries. KDS does not participate in the judging process.

 

There is only one trophy given for People's Choice. The People's Choice Award is voted on by the public who attend the show. They are allowed one vote for their favorite creation out of all three categories. The creation with the most votes win the People's Choice Award!

The winners will be announced on the showroom floor that Sunday at Noon.

Spaces are minimal. Please reserve a spot for your entry before all slots are filled. 

​

Payment to enter the contest is non-refundable and non-transferable.

​

​You may pose and display your baby that Saturday morning before the show begins at the contest staging area. However, you can only return to it once the judging has been completed.

 

Please have your entry covered completely before entering the contest staging area. Remember, your entries NEED TO REMAIN ANONYMOUS!!! Keep them out of public display. Dolls submitted for judging cannot be published before submission. You are NOT ALLOWED to touch your contest baby while being displayed at the show during judging. You are also NOT ALLOWED to mention which entry is yours while voting occurs. 

You may be disqualified if you fail to follow the rules as mentioned.

Owners are responsible for picking up contest entries after judging has ended on Saturday at the contest staging area! Once picked up, vendors may place their contest baby for sale at their booth or table. Non-Vendors are not allowed to sell their contest entry at the show.

The Kansas Doll Show will provide white baskets for you to pose your entry in. Please bring any small blankets for the basket for posing purposes. The outer blanket must be white in color to display your baby on.

 CONTEST RULES

Please carefully read all the rules to participate in the contests.

 

  • To enter the contest, you must attend the Kansas Doll Show on Saturday and Sunday.

  • All entries must be 100% completed by you! No one else may have worked on your contest entry. However, you may purchase the clothing.

  • Kansas Doll Show will not accept illegally produced or plagiarized kits.

  • The Kansas Doll Show will be supplying woven rectangle baskets to hold all contest entries. The basket measurements are 14 inches long by 12.6 inches wide and 6 inches high. Your entry must fit within that size. Blankets can be used, inside the basket to help prop up the entry. The outer blanket must be white in color for your entry to lay on.

  • Owners are responsible for bringing small blankets to place in basket to help prop up contest entry, and a white blanket to cover the basket.

  • Entries NEED TO REMAIN ANONYMOUS!!! Keep them out of public display. Dolls submitted for judging cannot be published before submission. You are NOT ALLOWED to touch your contest baby while being displayed at the show during judging. You are also NOT ALLOWED to mention which entry is yours while voting occurs. 

  • YOU MAY BE DISQUALIFIED IF YOU FAIL TO FOLLOW THE RULES AS MENTIONED. 

  • Contestants cannot sell dolls during the contest.

  • Non-vendors are not allowed to sell their contest entries at the Kansas Doll Show.

  • KDS has publication rights to all contest photographs. In addition, all photos and information submitted may be used by KDS in promotional materials.

  • KDS does not allow nude submissions.

  • KDS is not responsible for lost, stolen, or damaged display items or contest submissions.

  • Contestants will need to fill out the contest registrations at the contest staging area at the show. 

  • Keep your entries covered while waiting to display them at the contest staging area. 

  • PLEASE NOTE: If there are insufficient entries in any category, Kansas Doll Show, reserves the right to eliminate the category from this year's competition. If this occurs, a full refund will be sent for the entry fee through PayPal.
