Class Description:

Master the delicate art of painting ultra-realistic newborn barely there hair, lanugo, and eyebrows in this one-day class with prototype artist Christine Woolley. Learn how to create the soft, subtle look of “barely there” baby hair using fine brush techniques, gentle layering, and natural color blending. Perfect for achieving that authentic newborn finish, this class guides artists step-by-step through the process of painting lanugo, eyebrows, and “peach fuzz” baby hair for added realism. Ideal for reborners looking to refine their painting skills and elevate their artistry.

You will learn:

How to mix your paints to achieve the correct consistency.
How to use the specially hand trimmed brush in such a way that it will help you mimic realistic looking, fine baby hair.
How to paint lanugo.
How to paint realistic eyebrows.
How to map the head for hair.
How to layer the paint in such a way that it still looks super fine but also 3D.

Supplies included in class fee:

Blonde eyebrow tutorial book
3 specially formulated colors for lanugo and newborn peach fuzz hair plus 2 mediums.
A brush that I personally hand trim for you.
Sponges, paint pallet and a syringe for exact measurement.
A gift from myself from Tasmania!

Students Need to Bring:

A head no larger than 16” already painted up to the hair stage. The head needs to have no texture at all where we will be painting lanugo, eyebrows and hair. If you’re using heat set paints to paint your head, you can seal your head but no texture at all please. We can add this after hair painting.
A personal light, preferably battery operated if possible
Magnifying glasses
