BABY REBORN CATEGORY - ESTABLISHED ARTIST DIVISION
This division is for experienced reborn artists who have developed strong techniques, consistent craftsmanship, and a high level of realism in their work. Entries should demonstrate attention to detail, artistic skill, and professional presentation.
This division celebrates excellence in reborn doll artistry, including realistic painting, rooting, finishing techniques, and overall presentation.
This division is intended for artists with established reborn experience who are confident in their ability to create highly realistic and detailed reborn dolls.
This division is not intended for new artists. Artists who are new to reborn doll creation should enter the New Artist Division. Silicone dolls, fantasy creations, and toddler dolls must be entered in their designated categories.
WHAT CAN BE ENTERED
• Entries must be created using vinyl reborn kits.
• Dolls may represent preemies or newborns (not toddlers).
• Any reborn kit may be used.• Dolls may be painted in any skin tone.
• Hair may be rooted or painted.• Dolls must wear a plain white onesie. NO belly plates, extra props, or accessories are allowed (except for basket filling for support).
• Contestants must provide their own display materials.
• Entries must remain within the assigned display space provided by KDS.The Kansas Doll Show (KDS) will provide woven baskets for display; contestants must supply materials to prop their doll. Basket dimensions: 14" long x12.6" wide x 6" tall.
• Each basket must be covered with a plain white blanket, with the doll placed on top.
• The contestant number sticker must be clearly visible on the blanket.
• Each artist may enter one piece in this division.
• All work must be 100% completed by the artist.
• Entries must remain anonymous during judging.
WHAT IS NOT ALLOWED
• NO belly plates, extra props, or accessories are allowed.
• Artists who qualify for the New Artist Division.
• Silicone doll creations.
• Toddler dolls (must enter the Toddler Reborn category).
• Fantasy or artistic reborn dolls (must enter the Artistic Creations category).
HOW ENTRIES SHOULD BE PRESENTED
• Dolls must be securely posed and safely displayed within the assigned space.
• Hair must be realistically rooted or painted with advanced technique and natural flow.
• Skin tones should show depth, layering, and realistic blending.
• Dolls must wear a plain white onesie.
• The KDS basket must be covered with a plain white blanket, with the doll placed on top.
• Focus should remain on lifelike presentation, precision, and craftsmanship.
• Overall presentation should be clean, stable, and professional.
HOW ENTRIES ARE JUDGED
Judges will evaluate the following:
• Quality and execution of painting techniques
• Realism of skin tones, shading, and depth
• Rooting or painted hair application
• Fine detail work, including veining, blushing, and finishing
• Assembly quality and structural craftsmanship
• Overall lifelike realism
• Presentation• Artistic execution and attention to detail
Judging is based on technical skill, realism, craftsmanship, and overall presentation.

Baby Reborn - Established Artist Division
Be sure to reserve your spot early before all contest slots are filled! Contestants must attend the Kansas Doll Show on both Saturday and Sunday. Winners will be announced during the Awards Banquet on Saturday. You DO NOT have to attend the Awards Banquet to receive your trophy if you win, but you must be at the show on Sunday to pick up your trophy or award.
